Wax melter - small
Stainless Steel Steam Wax Melter with Gas Burner – Smaller Version
Do you want to obtain clean beeswax quickly and without unnecessary work while hygienically treating used combs and frames? This woodenstainless steel steam melter is a practical choice for beekeepers who want to keep wax rendering under control, save time and simplify regular comb renewal.
The assembly includes a stainless steel container with frame basket and a powerful gas burner. Everything works together as a complete solution – just connect a propane-butane bottle (pressure regulator not included) and you can start rendering.
Why choose this melter? (benefits for beekeepers)
1. Fast and gentle rendering: Steam is among the most efficient methods of wax extraction – without burning and with good yield. One batch is completed in approximately 30–50 minutes.
2. Hygiene without chemicals: Hot steam helps disinfect frames and reduces the risk of contamination transfer when working with old comb.
3. Less work with combs: You don't need to cut out frames beforehand (if you don't want to). The basket holds approximately 8–10 frames of size 39×24, 39×27.5 or 39×30, or corresponding amount of cut-out combs.
4. Stainless steel that lasts: The entire device is made of stainless steel – easy to clean, doesn't corrode and is suitable for long-term operation in beekeeping.
How the melter works
The principle is simple and proven: pour water into the lower part of the container, which is heated by the gas burner. The resulting steam rises into the basket with combs, gradually melting the wax which flows together with condensate through the outlet into a prepared container. The construction with uninsulated walls supports proper circulation and steam condensation, which is important for smooth wax rendering operation.
A practical element is the funnel opening for adding water and a control "eye" (bent tube), through which you can continuously see the water level without having to open the melter and unnecessarily interrupt the process.

Technical Parameters Table
| Parameter | Value |
| Material | Stainless steel (tank and basket) |
| Frame capacity | 8–10 pcs (39×24, 39×27.5, 39×30) |
| Overall dimensions (l × w × h) | 515 × 370 × 490 mm (with burner approx. 720 mm) |
| Frame basket dimensions | 440 × 285 × 300 mm |
| Heat source | Gas burner for Propane-Butane (included in package) |
| Burner output | 6.4 kW (pressure regulator not included) |
| Wax outlet diameter | 30 mm (1") |
| Water funnel diameter | 20 mm |
| Batch rendering time | approx. 30–50 minutes |
Instructions and tips for use
Place the melter on a solid and non-flammable surface and position the gas burner underneath. Fill the tank with water through the funnel – ideally so that the water level is at the recommended level according to the outlet opening. Place frames or combs in the basket, put on the lid and light the burner. Wax will gradually flow through the outlet into the prepared container. After completion, let the device cool down, clean the basket of residues and drain the remaining water to prevent sediment and mold formation in the tank.
