Bee frames
Assembled and wired frames equipped with spacers and eyelets. A wide selection of beehive frames in various sizes. High‑quality construction, sturdy and durable wood, and traditional handmade craftsmanship. We offer a broad range of nailed beehive frames made from premium linden wood. Thanks to its light weight, flexibility, and strength, linden wood is an ideal material for producing beehive frames — it splits less and is easy to assemble. Traditional frames usually feature top bars that are 10 mm thick and 25 mm wide, while their height and width can vary significantly. You can choose the wiring type — whether the frames are wired horizontally or vertically. Stainless steel wire is used. The frames can also be fitted with spacers and equipped with eyelets to prevent the wire from cutting into the wood.
Bee Frames – The Foundation of Every Hive
In the bee frames category, you’ll find everything needed for a sturdy and reliable honeycomb structure. A frame is more than just a wooden component – it’s the foundation on which bees build their combs, store honey and pollen, and raise new brood. A quality frame ensures stability, easy handling in the hive, and supports both the healthy development of the colony and efficient beekeeping.
? Types of Frames and Their Uses
Every beekeeper has their own methods – that’s why we offer frames in various forms to suit different preferences and levels of processing:
Frame parts (unassembled kits): Ideal for those who prefer to assemble their own frames. Each piece is precisely cut and ready for simple gluing or nailing.
Assembled frames: A practical choice for beekeepers who want to save time. The frames come securely joined and ready for further use or customization.
Wired frames: A complete, ready-to-use option equipped with high-quality stainless steel wire and eyelets.
? Frame Sizes for Different Hive Systems
Choosing the correct frame size is essential for the hive’s functionality. Our selection includes the most commonly used dimensions compatible with standard hive systems.
Langstroth System
A globally popular hive system for which we offer frames in several heights:
Langstroth 2/3 (159 mm): A popular choice for honey supers.
Langstroth 3/4 (185 mm): A balanced, all-purpose option.
Langstroth 1/1 (232 mm): The classic brood box height.
Langstroth Jumbo (285 mm): Suitable for beekeepers using large Dadant-style hives.
Other Common Frame Sizes
Our range also includes a wide selection of bee frames for other popular hive systems. Whether you keep bees in Optimal or Dadant hives, you’ll find the right frames here. We also offer traditional Zander frames. Every frame is crafted with precision to make hive management easier and to provide optimal conditions for comb construction.
? Materials and Craftsmanship Quality
Our frames are primarily made from linden (basswood) or eastern white pine.
Linden: Lightweight, solid, and easy to work with—does not crack during assembly.
Pine: A cost-effective wood with excellent resistance to moisture and splitting.
Special attention is given to the precision of joints and dovetails, ensuring right angles and stability even with fluctuations in hive temperature and humidity. We recommend using stainless steel beekeeping wire, which resists acids used in bee colony treatments.
? Maintenance Tips
It’s recommended to renew at least one-third of the comb each year – this supports the health of the colony and helps prevent the spread of diseases. When wiring frames, use ones with eyelets to prevent wood damage and keep the wire properly tensioned.
Beekeeper’s Tip: If you’re ordering only frame parts, don’t forget to add foundation sheets, beekeeping wire, and small nails to your cart – these will make frame assembly and preparation for the new season much easier.
