Radial honey extractors

Honey extractors with a radial basket arrangement. Radial extractors are the most efficient of all. That’s why all commercially produced lines feature either radial or parallel-radial extractors. The larger the radius, the better—since with a small spindle radius, there is a large difference in the peripheral speed between the upper and lower bars. For a 39x24 frame, we recommend an extractor drum with a diameter of 100 cm, and for taller frames, such as 37x30, a drum with a diameter of 120 cm. In a radial extractor, centrifugal force acts evenly on both sides of the comb, preventing it from collapsing. The radial extractor is also simpler and more economical to manufacture, as it contains no moving parts (cassettes).

Radial Extractors with Maximum Capacity

The honey extractor is one of the key tools in modern beekeeping, allowing beekeepers to efficiently and gently extract honey from the combs. Among the different types of honey extractors, radial extractors stand out as the ideal solution for apiaries of all sizes — from small family setups to large commercial operations. Thanks to their advanced design and technology, they bring significant improvements to the honey harvesting process.

What Makes Radial Extractors So Efficient?

A distinctive feature of radial extractors is their unique design, which allows simultaneous extraction of honey from both sides of the comb without the need to turn the frames. The frames are positioned around the central axis of the extractor, much like the spokes of a wheel, optimizing the use of centrifugal force. This setup ensures rapid and effective extraction while saving time and minimizing mechanical damage to the frames.

Advantages of Radial Extractors

  • Wide Range of Sizes and Drive Options: Our radial extractors come in a variety of models suitable for different frame types. You can choose between manual, motorized, or fully automatic drives according to your preferences and the size of your apiary.

  • Durable and Hygienic Construction: Each extractor is made from high-quality stainless steel, ensuring long lifespan and excellent durability. All parts that come into contact with honey comply with strict food-grade standards, guaranteeing the safety of your products.

  • Easy Maintenance: The extractor’s design simplifies cleaning and maintenance. A transparent acrylic lid allows you to monitor the extraction process, making operation both safer and more convenient.

  • Flexible Use: Available models also offer the option to switch to tangential extraction, giving greater flexibility to beekeepers who use different frame types.

Who are Radial Extractors Designed For?

Radial extractors are particularly suitable for medium and large-scale beekeepers who process honey with medium to low viscosity. Their capacity allows for spinning several dozen frames at once, making them perfect for professional use. For smaller beekeepers, manual or smaller electric tangential extractors are ideal, while large operations benefit most from high-capacity, fully automated radial systems.

In our beekeeping store, you’ll find premium-quality radial extractors from world-renowned manufacturers, known for their reliability, ease of use, and top performance. Our products let you turn your honey harvest into a fast, effortless process, helping you achieve the highest yields with minimal effort. Contact us today — we’ll gladly help you choose the right extractor for your beekeeping needs. Experience the modern way to harvest honey with our extensive range of radial extractors.

Drum Diameter as a Key Factor in Successful Honey Extraction

The drum diameter of an extractor is one of the most important design parameters, directly influencing the efficiency of honey extraction. A properly chosen drum diameter allows radial extractors to fully utilize the benefits of centrifugal force — the core principle behind their operation.

The Effect of Drum Diameter on Centrifugal Force

  • Centrifugal Force and Frame Positioning: In radial extractors, the frames are arranged around the central axis. Frames positioned farther from the center experience stronger centrifugal forces than those nearer to it. This results in faster and more efficient honey extraction. The right drum diameter ensures the optimal balance of force, maximizing efficiency without damaging the frames or comb structure.

  • Optimal Drum Size: If the drum is too small for the frame size, the frames will sit too close to the axis, reducing extraction efficiency. A smaller drum may require significantly more power to achieve the necessary centrifugal force, or the force may vary too much across the frame’s surface.

The Importance of Extraction Time

  • Extraction Duration: A correctly sized drum diameter can reduce the time needed for effective extraction. When matched to the frame type and size, the optimal centrifugal force helps honey flow out faster, shortening the total extraction process.

  • Even Extraction: A larger drum with evenly distributed frames enables smoother operation, reducing vibrations and stress on mechanical components.

Choosing the Right Drum Diameter

When selecting an extractor, it’s essential to consider the type and size of frames you use. Choosing the correct drum diameter is crucial to ensure efficiency and longevity. We are ready to provide expert advice and help you select the equipment that best suits your expectations and needs.
