Resistance to Corrosion and Acids During Treatment
The greatest advantage is the material itself. Stainless steel 304 (food-grade stainless steel) provides excellent resistance to moisture and acidic environments commonly found in beekeeping. During colony treatments (e.g., with formic acid or oxalic acid), galvanized mesh often deteriorates quickly, while stainless steel mesh maintains its strength and functionality. This gives you mesh resistant to treatment vapors and corrosion and saves you time and costs on frequent repairs.
Suitable for Varroa Floors and Cleaner Hive Environment
The 3.15 × 3.15 mm mesh size is a proven dimension for bee-tight screening. Bees cannot pass through it, but debris and Varroa destructor mites fall through onto the bottom board. Processing and Installation Tips
For 0.8 mm diameter wire, we recommend cutting the mesh with quality lever-action tin snips or heavy-duty cutting pliers. Work with gloves – freshly cut edges can be sharp. You can easily attach the mesh to wooden frames with a staple gun, or alternatively with screws and washers to prevent the mesh from tearing out.
