Processing beeswax is an essential part of caring for bee colonies and equipment for every beekeeper – and at the same time one of the most demanding tasks in the beekeeping season. The Mellarius wax melter is designed so that melting comb and frames proceeds faster, with less effort and with the highest yield of clean wax. The robust stainless steel construction combined with the possibility of heating with gas or steam makes it a reliable helper for hobby beekeepers as well as operations with larger numbers of colonies.

High Capacity and Faster Melting

The large frame basket measuring 45 × 45 cm allows processing up to 18 frames in one cycle. Fewer batches means less time at the melter and more space for other work at the apiary. Melting occurs using hot water steam, which penetrates the comb and effectively releases the wax. The basket with practical handles facilitates removal of melted residues (slumgum) and speeds up the entire process.

The well-designed inner tank separates the water circulation from the flowing wax, thanks to which you obtain cleaner wax already during the first melting and simplify subsequent clarification.

Stainless Steel for Long Life and Easy Maintenance

The Mellarius melter is made of food-grade stainless steel with a thickness of 0.8 to 1 mm. The construction is resistant to common mechanical stress and better withstands daily operation in beekeeping. Precise plasma welding creates smooth joints and surfaces that are easy to clean – which is important both for hygiene and for convenient maintenance after melting.

Four firmly welded legs keep the melter stable even when fully loaded. When working with hot water, steam and liquid wax, certainty and stability are always paramount.

Versatile Use: Wax Melting, Clarification and Disinfection

You can use Mellarius in two ways: with the included 7 kW gas burner, which ensures rapid temperature rise even in colder environments, or by connecting to an external steam generator using the supplied reducer. Thanks to brass plugs, the melter can also be used as a container for disinfecting beekeeping equipment or for final wax clarification. From one device you get a practical center for working with wax and hygiene at the apiary.
