Strainers

Honey strainers and other tools for filtering honey. During the honey extraction process, it is necessary to remove pieces of wax and other impurities from the combs. In our selection, you will find strainers with adjustable handles that can be easily placed on any container under the honey extractor. For extra fine filtering, ensuring your honey is free from even the smallest particles, we recommend nylon mesh filters and filtering bags. Our range includes filters in various sizes, plastic cylindrical strainers, conical, and double filters. Double strainers provide more thorough mechanical cleaning of honey: one screen captures finer impurities, while the other retains larger particles.

Beekeeping Sieves and Honey Strainers

Beekeeping sieves and honey strainers are essential tools for every beekeeper. Choosing the right sieve makes honey harvesting easier and ensures your honey is perfectly free of impurities.

Which Sieve or Strainer to Choose:

Double Strainers

Double stainless steel sieves are the most popular and commonly used option. These sieves have two mesh layers of different sizes, effectively separating impurities such as wax particles, comb residues, or dead bees. Double sieves can be placed directly on the container that collects the filtered honey. Thanks to their durability and easy maintenance, they are an ideal choice for all beekeepers.

Conical Sieves

Conical sieves have finer mesh and a cone-shaped design that allows for more precise filtration. As honey passes through the sieve more slowly, the filtering process is more thorough. They are perfect for beekeepers who strive for top honey purity and are often used together with double sieves.

Filter Bags and Nylon Mesh Screens

For ultra-fine filtration, filter bags can be used. These fabric or special plastic bags are stretched over a container and remove even the smallest particles such as pollen and micro-impurities. They are washable and reusable, making them an eco-friendly and economical solution for achieving a smooth, light consistency of honey.

Coarse and Fine Stainless Steel Sieves and Strainers

Stainless steel sieves are resistant to deformation and corrosion, making them a long-term investment. They are easy to clean and completely neutral in contact with honey, ensuring the flavor remains unchanged, as no chemical reactions occur.

Advantages of Using Beekeeping Sieves and Strainers

  • Efficient Cleaning: Allow multi-stage honey filtration, ensuring the final product is free from unwanted impurities.
  • Preservation of Honey Quality: Gentle filtering does not affect the honey’s quality—important enzymes and aroma remain intact while impurities are removed.
  • Long Service Life: Stainless steel and high-quality plastic sieves are durable and withstand demanding beekeeping use.
  • Wide Application: Whether for initial cleaning or final refining, beekeeping sieves provide a solution for every stage of honey processing.

Care and Maintenance

For optimal performance, sieves should be thoroughly cleaned after each use. Simply rinse them with warm water or soak them in hot water to remove honey and wax residue. Stainless steel sieves can also be safely washed in a dishwasher.
