Queen excluder - yellow plastic - 510x425 mm
Queen Excluder – High-Quality Cast Yellow Plastic 510 × 425 mm
Queen excluder made of rigid yellow cast plastic is part of the basic equipment for clear and efficient colony management in Langstroth hives. The material with a thickness of 1.9–2.0 mm is certified for food contact, so you can be sure that you are not transferring any unwanted substances into the honey when working in the hive. The result is clean and safe honey suitable for both home consumption and sale.
Why Use a Queen Excluder
The queen excluder is placed between the brood chamber and the honey super. Its purpose is to prevent the queen from passing into the honey super, while worker bees pass through the excluder without problems. Thanks to this, the honey super frames remain without brood and during honey harvest you avoid extracting frames with eggs or larvae. You get cleaner honey and at the same time significantly simplify your work during extraction and manipulation with supers.
Gentle on Bees and Easily Adjustable
The excluder is designed with safe bee movement in mind. Rounded edges minimize the risk of damage to wings and legs during passage, which can be a problem with some cheaper types of excluders. If needed, it can be easily cut to the exact size of your hive – even after modification, the plastic retains its strength and dimensional stability.
Available Sizes
Because dimensions differ according to hive system, we offer queen excluders in multiple variants. You can conveniently select the specific size below the product images. The price depends on the chosen size (the listed price is for the smallest variant).
