Queen excluder plastic Liebig Zander 478x378 mm
Plastic Queen Excluder Liebig Zander
The queen excluder is an absolutely indispensable helper for every modern beekeeper. It is placed directly on the brood chamber frames and reliably prevents the queen bee from passing between the supers. Thanks to this simple step, your honey super remains completely brood-free. Honey extraction is thus much faster, more hygienic, and you get the certainty of perfectly clean honey without impurities from brood cells.
Main Benefits for Your Apiary and Bee Colony
Using this plastic excluder will save you a lot of precious time during the main honey flow. The queen stays safely in the lower supers, while the worker bees can comfortably and without delay pass upward and store sweet nectar. The chosen plastic material is also exceptionally gentle on the bees. Unlike some cheap metal variants with sharp edges, there is no risk of bees rubbing off their wings or injuring their legs when crawling through.
Why Choose Plastic Design for Liebig Zander Hives?
This excluder is precisely sized for the Zander hive system (specifically the Liebig type). Quality and flexible plastic guarantees long service life – the excluder does not rust, does not freeze in winter, and provides better thermal insulation than metal in summer. The conspicuously yellow color not only looks good but also facilitates visual cleanliness inspection. After the season, it can also be very easily cleaned of propolis and wax bridges, which helps you maintain perfect hygiene in the hive.

Practical Tips for Proper Use
For maximum effectiveness, we recommend always placing the excluder on carefully cleaned top bars of the frames. Only then will it fit perfectly and no unnecessary gaps will form through which a smaller queen could squeeze. If you struggle with excess propolis when cleaning the excluder after the season, try a simple trick: place the excluder in the freezer for a while. The propolis will become brittle and you can then easily and quickly roll it off the plastic without having to use sharp tools that could disrupt the precision of the gaps.
