B401 - Certan wax moth prevention
B 401 - Natural Preparation Against Wax Moth
Preparation against wax moth B 401 - 120 ml
B401 is a highly concentrated solution of bacteria called Bacillus thuringiensis. It is completely safe for humans and bees. This bacteria shows 100% effectiveness against wax moth larvae. Only a single application of the solution is needed to protect your drawn combs until the next season. B401 leaves no residues in wax or honey and is environmentally friendly.
The preparation against wax moth B4 01 is used after honey harvest, on stored drawn combs. The protection is effective until the frames are used during the next season. Suitable for nucleus hives or empty hives.
The bacteria from B 401 kills only young wax moth larvae. Therefore, use it as prevention, not to rescue already infested combs. B401 leaves no residues in wax or honey and is safe for bee larvae and bees.
Bacillus thuringiensis contained in the B401 solution was discovered in 1911. It produces spores containing a toxin that is released inside the wax moth larva, killing it. Adult moths do not feed and therefore are not affected by this product. B401 is harmless to vertebrates and bees, and leaves no residues in wax and honey.
From one 120 ml package, you can treat 100-120 frames.
The natural solution to wax moth problems is here! B 401
is a concentrated solution of Bacillus thuringiensis var. aizawai, microorganisms
harmless to humans and bees
has up to 100% effectiveness against wax moth larvae (Galleria mellonella)
leaves no residues in wax or honey
provides protection throughout the entire year
one application is sufficient to protect frames until the next honey flow
When to use B 401
after honey harvest, when frames are stored. Frame protection lasts until the new season
Storage and protection
Store B 401 at temperatures between 5° - 20°C
-If the product is stored in a cool place (below 12°C) and in its closed original
bottle, B 401 can be stored for several years.
How to use B401?
The preparation is used after honey harvest, when frames are stored.
Treating frames with B 401 ensures protection throughout the following period.
Instructions for use:
1. Shake the preparation before use.
2. Dilute the solution with water in a ratio of 1:19 (5% solution).
To treat 10 frames, dilute 10 ml of B 401 with 200 ml of drinking water.
3. Pour the diluted solution into a sprayer.
4. Apply the solution evenly to both sides of the frame.
5. After application, let the frames air out to evaporate excess water from the frames. (Water causes MOLD!!!)
6. Before using B 401, calculate the volume needed to treat the required
number of frames. The diluted 5% solution cannot be stored.
For 100% protection of the frame, apply 1.5 ml of concentrated 5% B 401 solution per 10 cm2.
