Treat yourself to a honey super without brood and honey extraction without unnecessary worries. Metal queen excluder serves for safe separation of the brood chamber from the honey super – the queen bee cannot pass through it into the honey super boxes, and therefore will not lay eggs in combs intended for honey stores. Worker bees pass through the excluder normally, so the hive operation remains smooth and honey harvesting is faster and more hygienic.

Gentle to Bees, Precisely Manufactured

The queen excluder has precisely calibrated gaps that allow only worker bees to pass through, while reliably keeping the queen and drones in the brood chamber. In practice, several types are used (e.g., Hannemann's, often stamped and nowadays often plastic, or Prokopovich's made of wires). Wire construction is among the most suitable variants – our excluder is made of crossbars with round cross-section, so it has no sharp edges that could damage bees' wings. For even more comfortable passage of bees, we recommend not placing the excluder directly on the top bars of frames, but leaving sufficient space underneath for free movement.

Durability, Easy Cleaning and Wide Application

Metal excluder excels in high strength and long lifespan, which usually exceeds plastic alternatives. A great advantage is also maintenance – metal can be easily cleaned of wax and propolis by boiling or flame treatment. Besides use during honey flow, you can also utilize it in queen rearing, for example to separate the queen from capped queen cells, or for temporary separation of drones for other beekeeping operations.
