Transformer as embedder for stainless steel wires
Embedding Transformer 24 V for Quick and Secure Foundation Embedding
Speed up frame preparation and ensure that foundations will hold exactly where they should. This embedding transformer is a practical tool for every beekeeper who wants to embed wire into foundation quickly, evenly and without unnecessary compromises. The output voltage of 24 V is suitable even for stainless steel wire, which has higher resistance compared to tinned wire and typically requires a "stronger" power source.
Why choose this embedding transformer?
The greatest benefit is time savings and consistent results. Compared to manual embedding or improvising with a car battery, you work more comfortably and with better control. Thanks to the 80 VA power output, the wire heats up to the correct temperature within seconds and embeds cleanly into the wax under foundation pressure. With proper timing, you minimize the risk of overheating and foundation damage.
Main practical advantages:
Safer operation: The transformer is equipped with a thermal fuse. In case of overheating, the power source automatically disconnects (indicator light goes out). After cooling down, it automatically resumes operation and you can continue.
Suitable for stainless steel: The 24 V voltage helps quickly heat even longer sections of stainless steel wire, which remains flexible and holds its shape well.
Easy to use: Connect to mains, attach contacts to wire ends and the foundation is embedded in moments.
Recommended Embedding Procedure
For more secure foundation placement, we recommend pre-tensioning and crimping the wire in the frame with a crimping tool. Crimping helps the wire better "bite" into the wax and reduces the risk of comb deformation in the hive. It's practical to insert the foundation closer to the bottom bar – bees often prefer to build the gap at the top rather than at the bottom.
Instructions for use:
1. Connect the power cord to mains (230 V). The lit indicator shows readiness.
2. Prepare the frame with tensioned wire and place the foundation. (Beginners benefit from a support under the frame, experienced beekeepers commonly embed "in the air".)
3. Attach the banana plugs (transformer contacts) to the wire ends on the frame side.
4. As soon as the wire heats the wax and begins to sink into it, immediately remove the contacts.
5. Let the wax briefly solidify. The frame is ready to be placed in the hive.
