Swarn catching feromon solution
Swarm Lure – Solution (50 ml)
Swarm lure for attracting swarms is a highly effective liquid preparation with synthesized queen bee pheromones and a carefully selected blend of natural oils. This time-tested formula, also known among beekeepers as "Imkergeheimnis" (Beekeeper's Secret), has been used with excellent results since 1929. For beekeepers, it represents practical help in preventing losses caused by swarming – it reduces the risk of bee loss and losses of honey and other bee products. By targeted swarm attraction, it also saves you time, nerves, and costs associated with searching for and chasing escaped bees.

Instructions for Use and Tips for Maximum Effectiveness
To catch a swarm, prepare a swarm trap, an older box (e.g., 25 × 25 × 10 cm), or an empty hive without frames. It is highly recommended to attach pieces of oak bark to the outer walls and bottom, on which the scent adheres well and lasts longer. Simply drip the solution onto the outer sides of the swarm trap, around the entrance, or directly onto the prepared oak bark. Alternatively, you can also use a special swarm lure capsule filled with the solution and place it as close as possible to the entrance.
Ideal Swarm Trap Placement
Place the swarm trap in a clearly visible location, ideally in shade and away from direct sunlight. The recommended hanging height is approximately 1–2 meters above the ground, with the entrance preferably facing south. Depending on the size of the apiary, number of colonies, and their swarming tendency, usually 3 to 6 swarm traps are hung. A suitable distance from the hives is approximately 5–10 meters, but since swarms often search for a new location far from the mother colony, it is worthwhile to place some traps at a greater distance (e.g., around 250 meters from the apiary).
Important Notices for Scent Maintenance
The attracting effect of pheromones and essential oils lasts approximately 5 days. For reliable protection against swarm loss, it is necessary to always renew the application or dripping after rain, which can wash away the active substances. Store the bottle with the solution away from direct sunlight – light and heat can degrade the pheromones more quickly.
