Queen (Excluder) Grid – Yellow Molded Plastic, 478 × 378 mm

Queen excluder made of high-quality rigid yellow plastic is part of the basic equipment for Langstroth beekeeping. It is precisely molded from durable material with a thickness of 1.9–2.0 mm, which is certified for food contact. Honey thus does not come into contact with unwanted substances and its natural purity is preserved.

The excluder is designed primarily for Langstroth hives (not only with square floor plan). Its main task is to reliably separate the brood chamber from the honey super and prevent the queen from passing into the honey supers. If necessary, it can be easily cut to the exact size of your hive – even after modification it maintains its shape, is firm and does not warp. Safe Passage for Worker Bees

The construction of the excluder emphasizes the comfort and safety of the bee colony. The openings have carefully rounded edges, so worker bees do not get caught and do not damage their wings when frequently passing between the brood chamber and honey super (with nectar upward and back down). The queen and drones, due to their larger body structure (especially thorax), cannot pass through the excluder and thus remain in the brood chamber.

Clean Honey Super and Easier Honey Extraction

Thanks to the queen excluder, the queen cannot enter the honey super, and therefore no brood develops in the honey combs. For the beekeeper, this means clean honey combs, faster work during extraction, lower risk of brood damage, and higher hygiene when harvesting honey. The durable plastic is also easy to clean of wax and propolis, so the excluder is easy to maintain and lasts a long time.
