Insulating Chamber Partition Langstroth 232
Insulating Division Board Langstroth 232
The insulating division board is designed for insulating bee colonies during spring development, as well as for insulating nucleus colonies or weak colonies. The division board is inserted into the hive box to divide it into two parts, enabling the rearing of new nucleus colonies. The board is gradually moved as the nucleus develops into a full colony. This solution is particularly useful for newly created nucleus colonies. The division board also serves to reduce space in the hive for weaker colonies or nucleus colonies during winter. By reducing the space in the hive, thermal comfort and insulation efficiency for the colony are increased. If the hive is not fully occupied with frames, the division board can be used to separate the active part of the colony from unused space in the hive.
These division boards are made of polycarbonate plastic sheet with a thickness of 3mm, which is firmly glued and secured with staples into a wooden frame. Inside, traditional polystyrene or fiberboard is used as reinforcement.
