Formic acid - Formidol 41 g - 10 pieces - 20 plates
FORMIDOL 2 plates a. u. v.
Formidol is a preventive medication that can be used without a veterinary prescription. Formidol provides a biologically harmless medication to combat Varroosis and Nosema disease. Formidol can be used from spring to autumn 3 to 4 times a year.
Formic acid is a known mite killer. Varroosis is currently a real problem for beekeepers worldwide. Formic acid is an effective killer of mites and other bee pests (e.g., the fungus causing chalkbrood, or nosema). Formic acid is a natural substance that leaves no residues, and mites and microorganisms cannot develop resistance against it.
Our Bee Research Institute developed Formidol evaporation plates (name derived from formic acid and Dol near Libčice n.Vlt.). A minor disadvantage of such plates is that the evaporation rate of formic acid is uneven. A uniform evaporation over a longer functional period would be desirable.
Formidol solves this by having plates with a double wrapper. The first wrapper reveals a second wrapper with holes that slow down the first phase of evaporation. After several days, this wrapper is removed, exposing the entire saturated plate.

The evaporation plate with formic acid is designed for summer treatment of bee colonies. If daily maximum temperatures exceed 25°C, do not insert or remove the regulatory wrapper in the afternoon when the temperature and hive entrance activity are at maximum, but in the morning or evening after the colony has calmed down.
