The round entrance disc (entrance reducer rose) with a diameter of 68 mm is a practical and long-lasting reliable tool for every apiary. It serves to close and regulate the passage of bees and queen through the entrance hole. Thanks to the prominent tab for turning, the disc is easy to operate even with gloves – you can quickly set the desired position and be sure it will last many seasons.

Colony Protection Year-Round

Properly adjusted entrance helps maintain security and suitable microclimate in the hive, which directly affects the colony's condition. The stainless steel disc effectively restricts access to unwanted visitors – mice in winter, and hornets, wasps, or robbing bees during the flow season. Unlike plastic discs, which become brittle over time due to UV radiation and frost, stainless steel resists weather conditions and corrosion. It is therefore suitable for hives, mating nucs, and mini-nucs, where you'll appreciate long service life without frequent replacement.

Simple Adjustment and Installation

The rose offers multiple positions – full opening of the hole for free bee traffic and two ventilation variants. Ventilation positions prevent bee passage but keep the hole open for air, which is valuable especially when transporting colonies in warm weather, when overheating and suffocation are risks. Installation is easy: place the disc on the front wall of the hive in the center of the entrance hole and secure it with a screw through the center hole. We recommend stainless steel screws 3×20 mm or 3.5×20 mm.
