Do you need to keep bee flight under control and quickly secure the entrance according to the situation during the season? This rotating entrance disc in red color with a diameter of 68 mm allows you to change settings with a single turn – without wedges, inserts, and unnecessary manipulation. It is perfect for supers, but also for mating nucs and mini-nucs, where quick entrance regulation is often crucial.

Four Positions for Different Beekeeping Situations

This is not just an ordinary cover. The disc offers 4 practical modes that allow you to easily respond to the colony's needs throughout the year:

1. Fully open (24 mm opening): For intensive flight activity during nectar flow and high bee activity.
2. Ventilation (perforated section): Ideal when closing the colony, during migratory beekeeping or transport – bees stay inside, but the hive has sufficient air and the risk of overheating is reduced.
3. Queen excluder: Restricts the passage of the queen (and often drones), while workers can pass through. Useful for queen rearing, swarm prevention, or controlled colony management.
4. Completely closed: Safe entrance closure during transport, in winter, or for example during colony treatment (e.g., fumigation).

Protection of Hive and Colony

The disc helps not only with flight regulation, but also with protection against pests. In winter, it makes access difficult for mice and shrews, which can cause great damage in the hive. When the entrance is narrowed, bees can more easily defend the entrance against robbing and in many locations also against hornet attacks.

It is made of quality colored plastic that is UV stable and weather-resistant. It does not become brittle in the sun and maintains its color long-term. The red version is also suitable for clear apiary organization – it facilitates color differentiation of hives, nucs, or breeding lines.

Quick Installation, Easy Operation

Installation is simple: in the center of the disc is a hole for a screw (not included). Attach it to the super so that it rotates with slight resistance – the position then holds reliably even in wind and you can easily change it by hand.

Technical Specifications

Tip for beekeepers: Alternate colors of entrance discs on adjacent hives (e.g., red, yellow, blue, green). This helps reduce drifting of bees and queens into foreign hives, especially in apiaries with hives in a row.
