The white rotating entrance disc with a diameter of 50 mm is a simple but very effective tool for every beekeeper who needs to react quickly to the situation at the apiary. It is suitable for transporting bee colonies, protection against wasps and pests, and for temporary closure of the entrance during varroa treatment. Just turn it and you're done – even with gloves on.
Four positions for entrance regulation according to needs
The disc offers four functional settings that you can easily switch by rotating the disc. Full entrance is used during normal operation and during nectar flow when flight activity is highest. The "queen excluder" position (passage height of one bee) prevents the queen from passing through and also helps protect weakened colonies, nucs or mating nucs against mice, hornets and robber bees. Ventilation position ensures air supply during migration and hive manipulation. Complete closure is suitable for transport, temporary hive closure or specific interventions.
Durable plastic that lasts, and installation in seconds
The disc is made of quality rigid plastic with a thickness of 1 mm, which withstands UV radiation and weather well. Thanks to this, it reliably serves repeatedly for multiple seasons. Installation is quick: through the center hole, you attach it with a regular screw to the front wall of the hive. The central mounting ensures smooth rotation and easy operation even with thicker beekeeping gloves.
White color helps bees with orientation
The white design is not just a matter of appearance. The contrasting color increases entrance visibility and facilitates forager orientation, which you will appreciate especially at apiaries with multiple entrances close together – typically with mating nucs or breeding setups.
