The Griffin aerosol generator is used for pest elimination.
Griffin K aerosol generator for hive fumigation and parasite elimination. The generator creates an aerosol by injecting medicinal oil with medication into a heated tube and using a nozzle to inject the mist into the hive space. The Griffin K aerosol generator provides fast treatment and high effectiveness. The temperature is generated using a gas cartridge.

Griffin is not an approved treatment for varroa mites in the Czech Republic.
Previously, Griffin K was labeled as Griffin 1 and 2. The use of Griffin for work is time-dependent. The cartridge lasts about 1.5 hours. The burner with a gas bottle is more time-efficient. Since the burner can be easily removed in both cases, it depends on what requirements you have for it. In terms of mobility, Griffin K is significantly lighter. The mobility of Griffin H is limited by the weight of the propane-butane bottle. There is no difference in functionality between them.

The cartridge in Griffin K can remain until the next use. Preparation takes about 2-3 minutes, and application is a matter of a few seconds. How many starts the cartridge will last depends on the number of starts with heating and the duration of application.
Regarding operation, whether it's Griffin K or H, when the gas in the bottle or cartridge is running low, you won't be able to heat the exchanger enough for the coils to turn red, and it can burn for several minutes, in the case of a bottle even tens of minutes. It's pointless to attempt application because poor evaporation occurs and unevaporated oil drips from the nozzle. Replace the cartridge or bottle and continue.

Technical information and operation
The Griffin K aerosol generator works with a 190g propane-butane gas cartridge (disposable puncture type). Thanks to the high temperature generated during heating, it can immediately create a mist that is applied to the hive space. The duration of a single use is a matter of seconds, and the cartridge capacity lasts approximately 1.5 hours of operation. The advantage is quick replacement of the cartridge or gas bottle and the possibility of storing the remaining contents for the next application.
After use, it is recommended to rinse the device with alcohol to prevent clogging of the tube with oil residue.

- Use the device exclusively in open spaces to prevent gas leakage in enclosed rooms.
- Use protective equipment - respirator with A1 filter, protective gloves, and shield.
- Minimum safe distance for other people is 3-5 meters.
- Do not leave the device within reach of children. Only adult users with knowledge of the risks should handle the device.
- The oil and smoke are flammable and can cause damage to property or health if handled improperly.
- If skin or eyes are affected, rinse the affected area with water; if ingested, induce vomiting and drink water with activated charcoal. In case of smoke inhalation, leave the affected area.

The Griffin K aerosol generator is not approved in the Czech Republic for use in controlling varroa mites in bee colonies. The product cannot be used for control interventions against varroa mites according to current legislation. Always respect applicable legal regulations and recommendations from professional institutions.
