Why put a landing board on the super?

When returning from foraging, forager bees are loaded with nectar or pollen, making them harder to maneuver. When there's no landing surface, they must aim directly at the round entrance hole, which costs them energy and often results in unsuccessful landing attempts. The spruce landing board serves as a landing surface that significantly facilitates the bees' entry into the hive.

The landing board also provides space for takeoff and on hot days helps with ventilation – bees gather at the entrance, fan, and maintain a suitable microclimate in the super.

The landing board is made from quality solid spruce wood that visually matches the hive. Installation is simple and quick – using pre-drilled holes (we recommend adapting the pre-drilling to the hardness of the super wood) and included fastening hardware, you can easily attach it under the round entrance hole.

The package includes 2 screws 70 mm long for secure hive box that holds well even with higher traffic at the entrance and normal outdoor stress.
