A beekeeper should replace approximately 50% of the combs in the bee family's nest every year. This helps maintain cleanliness and health of the bee family. To introduce new frames with foundation, you can use old frames (disinfected, properly prepared), or insert new frames. Typically, bee frames are purchased as separate elements. They need to be assembled, nailed together, wired, and finally have the foundation embedded. This is a time-consuming process. We recommend ready-made frames that only need the foundation to be embedded. Because these are Hoffman frames, the beekeeper doesn't need to worry about frames shifting during transport, which could result in crushing bees.
