Quality Materials and Long Lifespan

The Mellarius round wax melter is designed for rapid wax extraction from frames and combs using water steam. Steam heating is provided by a 2.2 kW electric generator, which is included in the package. The melter is equipped with its own stainless steel strainer for convenient handling of rendered material. The entire container is made of food-grade stainless steel with a thickness of 0.8 to 1 mm, to be resistant to normal stress and prevent unwanted dents. Emphasis is placed on smooth, easily washable surfaces and precise processing using modern plasma welding. The lid is fitted with a threaded collar, thanks to which you can connect the steam generator simply, firmly, and safely.

The set includes a Mellarius 2.2 kW steam generator with innovative construction. It is equipped with an improved bimetallic thermal fuse that protects the device against overheating and contributes to a longer lifespan of the heating coil. The steam generator is designed for continuous operation and high reliability during regular beekeeping use.

Steam Generator Operating Instructions and Practical Tips

Loosen the screw at the water inlet, pour in 3 liters of water, and tighten the screw firmly again. Connect the hose to the generator and insert the other end into the opening in the stainless steel container. Plug the power cable into the socket and wait approximately 30–40 minutes until the wax flows out. Then disconnect the generator from the power supply and carefully open the container lid – escaping steam can cause burns. Gradually remove the melted frames with rendered comb and clean them while still warm (for example, with a spatula). Then insert the next frames to be melted and refill the generator with water. Heating 3 liters of water takes approximately 10–15 minutes; the time can be shortened by using already hot water. This amount of water is sufficient for approximately 50 minutes of continuous operation. To limit limescale formation and protect the generator, we recommend using distilled or demineralized water.
