Do you want to process beeswax quickly, cleanly and without unnecessary effort? The large steam wax melter Mellarius is designed for demanding operation in the apiary and workshop. Using water steam, you can conveniently melt wax from whole frames and cut-out comb, and work that would take hours can be done significantly faster. An advantage is also the choice of heating – you can produce steam using the included electric steam generator, or use a classic gas burner.
Benefits for beekeepers: fast melting and support of operational hygiene
Regular comb replacement is one of the basics of proper zoo-hygiene and helps reduce the pressure of diseases such as American foulbrood or nosemosis. The internal basket with a capacity of up to 18 frames significantly reduces the number of cycles and saves your time. Steam melting effectively separates clean wax from cocoons and at the same time acts with high temperature, which helps sanitize frames. Water and melted wax are drained through separate outlets, so you get clean wax suitable for further processing (e.g. for foundation or cosmetics). Using the supplied brass plugs, the device can also be used as a disinfection bath for selected beekeeping equipment.
Robust stainless steel construction for long life
The Mellarius melter is made of food-grade stainless steel with a thickness of 0.8 to 1 mm, which resists deformation well and can handle intensive use. Plasma welding and emphasis on smooth surfaces facilitate cleaning and reduce dirt adhesion. Stability is ensured by massive, firmly welded legs with four-point support. Inside you will find a removable basket with handles, placed on a stainless steel plate that separates the water circulation from the space for draining wax.
Steam generator with heating element protection
The set includes a reliable Mellarius steam generator with a power output of 2.2 kW. The improved design with a bimetallic fuse protects the heating coil from overheating, extends the device's lifespan and reduces the risk of damage in case of dry running.
