Electric uncapping knife is a reliable helper for quick honey extraction

Uncapping with a cold fork or classic knife can be quite troublesome when dealing with a larger number of combs. Electric uncapping knife moves the work during honey extraction significantly forward – thanks to the heated blade, it passes through wax cappings smoothly and without unnecessary effort. You'll especially appreciate it during the main honey flow or when extracting honey from multiple hives, where speed and cleanliness of work are crucial.

Smooth cut, less waste, more honey

The key advantage is constant working temperature. The 25 cm long blade heats up quickly after connecting to mains power (220–230 V) and allows for a straight and clean cut in one stroke. Compared to manual uncapping, there is less waste in cappings with honey residue – more honey thus goes directly into the extractor and less is unnecessarily retained in the wax.

Straight combs for next season and better work in the hive

It's not just about extraction speed, but also about the condition in which you return the combs to the bees. Uncapping with an electric knife leaves the comb surface nicely leveled, so the cells have uniform depth and the comb is ready for further use from flow to flow. The queen can then better establish a continuous brood area and the colony has an easier start into the next period.

Suitable for various frame sizes

You can use the knife with both shallow supers and taller frames (e.g., Dadant 39×24 or Langstroth). In practice, it's also useful when bees build comb beyond the frame edge during heavy nectar flow – the heated blade can handle even a more pronounced layer and quickly level the comb.

Technical specifications

Tip for beekeepers: Let the knife heat up briefly before the first cut and during work, continuously wipe the blade on the edge of the uncapping container. The cut will be cleaner and heat will transfer more evenly.
