Silicone mold for foundation sheets 395 x 195 mm
Silicone Mold for Making Your Own Foundation
Keep the wax in your hives under control and support the health of your bee colonies. The silicone mold for casting foundation is a practical tool for beekeepers who want a closed wax cycle and clear origin of the material on which bees build. Thanks to your own production, you no longer have to rely on wax exchange for foundation of unknown origin, which may contain paraffin admixture or medication residues.
Why Make Foundation from Your Own Wax?
Acquiring a silicone mold means greater economic and biological independence. The biggest advantage is certainty of wax purity – bees build on material that comes directly from your own colonies. This can positively affect bee condition and overall hive hygiene. At the same time, recurring costs for purchasing foundation and time spent traveling to collection points are eliminated, so the mold typically pays for itself quickly with regular use.
Product Features and Description
The mold is made of quality flexible silicone that withstands the temperature of molten wax and facilitates removal of the finished foundation. Silicone has naturally non-stick properties, so wax adheres minimally to the surface and work is faster. The mold's relief faithfully replicates the cell structure of comb (standard cell size), which helps bees accept the foundation and subsequent building.
After pouring wax and pressing the upper part, the fine detail of cells is imprinted into the wax. After cooling, you get a flat foundation ready to be embedded into a frame.
Available Variants and Dimensions
Multiple sizes are available for the most common frame dimensions. Select the variant according to your type of supers and frames (e.g., Langstroth and others). For some atypical dimensions, you can use a larger foundation and then simply trim it to the required size.

| Product Code | Dimension (Width x Height) | Suitable Use (approximate) |
| 3817 | 395 x 195 mm | Shallow supers, half frames |
Tip for Beekeepers: How to Make the Work Easier
Although silicone is non-stick, light moistening of the mold has proven effective for smoother demolding and a nicer surface. In practice, you can use a spray bottle with fine "honey water" or whey – the foundation then comes out almost by itself and is usually nicely glossy. The correct wax temperature (approx. 75–80°C) is also important so that the cell relief is imprinted cleanly and evenly.
