Simplify and speed up colony feeding with this original frame feeder imported from the USA. The black plastic feeder is designed for the Langstroth 1/1 hive system (super height 232 mm). Its width replaces two frames, offering a generous capacity of 6.3 l. In practice, this means less frequent refilling and more peace of mind, especially during intensive feeding periods.

When You'll Find It Most Useful

You'll appreciate its greatest benefit during autumn feeding of production colonies with sugar syrup, when you need to provide larger quantities of stores safely and without unnecessary hive interventions. The feeder is also excellent for feeding freshly hived swarms and shaken swarms, helping them develop more quickly. For nucs, we recommend using sugar paste or sugar-honey dough instead, which supports gradual and stable energy intake.

Safe and Practical Design

The interior surface is textured to give bees better grip and easier movement inside the feeder. Nevertheless, from practical experience we recommend, especially for weaker colonies and nucs, adding a float to the feeder (e.g., two wooden strips). This reduces the risk of bees drowning and increases feeding safety.

Recommended Use and Syrup Preparation

For effective feeding, a sugar syrup ratio of 3:2 (sugar:water) has proven successful. Bees accept it well, process it quickly, and store it as reserves. The feeder is lightweight (353 g), yet sufficiently sturdy for regular handling even when filled to full capacity.
