Medium Stainless Steel Bee Smoker with Leather Bellows

Medium stainless steel bee smoker with inner insert is part of the basic equipment of every beekeeper. Calmer Colony and Safer Work

The biggest advantage of the smoker is calming the bees and reducing tension in the colony during beekeeper intervention. Smoke helps to gently move bees away from areas where you need to work, while limiting their defensive reactions. Bees perceive smoke as a signal of possible fire, and instinctively fill their honey stomachs with honey reserves. With "full" honey stomachs, they tend to be less aggressive, fly less, and hive manipulation is smoother – with significantly lower risk of stings.

Thoughtful Design for Comfortable Handling

The practical shape of the smoker with a narrower spout (chimney) allows you to direct smoke precisely into the bee spaces between frames. For safe work, the smoker is equipped with an external handle that helps protect against burns, and also a hook for hanging directly on the edge of an open hive. Fuel smolders inside the smoker body and the resulting smoke is pushed through the chimney by the bellows through a spark arrester, which prevents hot particles from flying into the hive.

What Fuel to Choose for the Smoker?

You can use proven home materials or ready-made beekeeping fuels such as wicks or pellets in the smoker. Traditional fuels include dry punk wood (rotten wood) or dried sumac. The inner insert supports good air draft from below, so the fuel smolders evenly and the smoker has more stable performance and goes out less frequently.
