Cell protector USA - 10 pcs
Queen Cell Protector USA Type – 10 pieces
Protective queen cell cage is a practical tool for beekeepers in queen rearing, adding capped queen cells and working with nucs. The plastic cage reliably protects the queen cell from unwanted chewing by bees from the sides and also reduces the risk of mechanical damage during handling. This significantly increases the chance of successful emergence of a new queen.
Advantages in Queen Rearing
The greatest benefit is safe and quick transfer of queen cells without crushing and without unnecessary stress for the colony. The protector has two practical wings ("ears"), thanks to which you can easily hang it from above between the top bars of combs in a queenless colony or in a nuc in a mating hive. The construction protects the queen cell, but at the same time allows sufficient ventilation and heat transfer from the bees, which is essential for proper queen development. After emergence, the queen takes her mating flight in the normal way and naturally mates.
Use and Compatibility
Use is simple: insert the queen cell cup with queen cell into the protector from the top (max. cup diameter 12 mm). The protector is suitable for cups with and without a plug, and if necessary, a classic wooden cage can also be attached to the protector.
