Silicone molds for beeswax candles type - F128
The silicone mold is used for casting beeswax candles. The molds are made of high-quality silicone that easily withstands the temperature of melted wax. Silicone molds are typically made from a single piece that is cut to make candle removal easier. The cut in the mold also allows for wick insertion. The molds are designed for repeated use.
Silicone molds are suitable for casting wax, soap, plaster, resin, etc.
How to make beeswax candles.
Before first use, or if the mold hasn't been used for a long time, wash it. Silicone oil may be released, which needs to be washed off with dish soap and water or wiped with a tissue soaked in alcohol.
Remember to secure the wick properly. An ordinary rubber band, which is supplied with the mold, is used to secure the mold. Use more rubber bands if necessary. Round rubber bands are not suitable as they slide down on conical molds. For larger molds, rubber bands are not suitable, and it's better to use string wrapped several times around the mold, or you can use stretch film.
Pour the wax into the molds at a temperature of approximately 100°C. As the wax cools in the mold, its volume shrinks. At the same time, the wax tends to adhere to the edges of the mold when solidifying. The final shape of the candle therefore somewhat depends on the elasticity of the mold material. It may help to pierce the center of the mold during solidification and then fill the hole with more wax.
Sometimes there may be a problem if there are cavities in the mold and it's a very complex mold. Due to wax shrinkage, you lose volume from these areas. The result is unfilled protruding parts. You can solve this problem by first pre-pouring these parts with a smaller amount of wax.
