Bumblebee Hive - wooden vp21
Massive Wooden Bumblebee House for Your Garden
Do you want to increase pollination and thus the harvest in your garden naturally? This woodenwooden bumblebee house is an excellent choice for hobby growers, non-beekeepers, and families with children. Bumblebees are exceptionally diligent and generally non-aggressive pollinators – moreover, they fly out even in colder, windy, or damp weather when honeybees are less active. By placing a bumblebee house, you will support fruit set in fruits and vegetables, help biodiversity, and at the same time create a safe place where you can observe the life of pollinators up close and with respect for nature.

Solid Construction for Stable Temperature
The body of the bumblebee house is made of solid spruce wood with a wall thickness of 25 mm, which helps maintain a more balanced microclimate inside. Protection against rain is provided by a roof made of waterproof plywood (2.1 cm) with a generous overhang of 4 cm on each side and additionally with insulation of 2 cm polystyrene. Legs made of waterproof plywood (0.9 cm) lift the bumblebee house above the ground and help reduce the effect of ground moisture.
Entrance That Makes Sense to Bumblebees and Effective Ventilation
For comfortable arrival, the bumblebee house is equipped with a removable landing board (wooden block 60 × 30 mm). This is followed by a 40 cm long black "goose neck" with an internal diameter of 21.5 mm, which mimics the natural access tunnel that bumblebees seek (such as abandoned burrows). A stable internal environment is supported by a ventilation hole with a diameter of 5–5.5 cm with the possibility of closing. Protection is provided by a triple barrier: outer metal mesh, uhelon 53S, and inner metal screen. For easy cleaning after the season, the inner screens can be easily unscrewed.
Recommendations for Setting Up the Bumblebee House and Protection Against Pests
To help the new bumblebee family quickly "settle in," we recommend filling the internal space (25 × 25 × 25 cm) to approximately two-thirds with natural cotton or sheep's wool. As a very useful accessory, we recommend purchasing a protective entrance flap, which only a bumblebee can lift with its strength. This helps limit the intrusion of pests and unwanted visitors, such as the wax moth, cuckoo bumblebees, conopid flies, or brachycoma flies, and keep the nest safe throughout the season.
