Apilanol – Ant Stop 0.5 kg

Apilanol ant repellent 500 g is a lanolin-based product – a fat derived from sheep's wool – that creates an effective protective barrier against ants. Its scent and greasy consistency are highly unpleasant for ants, causing them to avoid treated areas. Application is easy – simply apply Apilanol to the places where ants gain access to the hives. It is particularly suitable for treating hive legs, hive stands, bee houses, or other structures in the apiary.

Gentle protection for bee colonies without chemicals

Ants in the vicinity of a hive can cause beekeepers a number of problems. They can raid honey stores, be attracted to sugar syrup during feeding, and their presence disturbs the peace of the colony. Apilanol offers a simple solution based on a natural ingredient. Lanolin forms a repellent and mechanical barrier on the treated surface that ants are reluctant to cross. This allows hives to be protected without the use of aggressive insecticides near bees and bee products.

Long-lasting effect in outdoor conditions

An advantage of Apilanol is its good adhesion and resistance to common weather conditions. Unlike some liquid or powder barriers, lanolin does not wash off surfaces quickly and does not lose its effectiveness after the first rain. The greasy layer remains functional on hive legs or stands for an extended period, saving the beekeeper the effort of frequently reapplying protection in the apiary.

How to use Apilanol correctly?

For the best effect, apply the product in a continuous band approximately 5 to 10 cm wide on all legs of the hive stand, supports, or other parts of the structure that ants could use to reach the hive. Before application, it is advisable to remove coarse dirt from the surface so that the lanolin adheres well. Also check the surroundings of the hive – tall grass, branches, or objects leaning against the hive can create a "bridge" that allows ants to bypass the barrier.
