Instructions for use and placement

Bait preparation:

Prepare a solution in the trap in this ratio (or use ready-made VespaCatch attractant):

1. 10 ml VespaCatch attractant

2. 200 ml water

3. 50 g sugar

Where to place the trap:

Place traps in hornet flight paths and in places with their frequent occurrence (near hives, by pools, on terraces, near fruit trees, etc.).

• Near hives: Place on the ground or on a stand near the apiary.

• Hanging: Hang on a branch at a height of approximately 1.5–3 m above ground.

Recommended number of traps according to occurrence intensity:

When and how to maintain the trap?

• When to start: Ideally when maximum daily temperatures consistently exceed 15°C.

  • Spring: capture of foundresses (queens) – reduction of new nest numbers.

  • Autumn: capture of workers during the period of highest pressure on bee colonies.

• Activation: Before the trap becomes attractive to hornets, it may take several hours. If capture is weak, change the location.

• Bait replacement: Replace the solution approximately every 3 weeks or earlier if significantly contaminated/filled.

TIP for increasing effectiveness:
When replacing bait do not wash the trap completely clean. Leaving traces of the old solution (possibly even one dead hornet) can accelerate attraction of other individuals due to released scents.
