Classic beehive addition cage. The wooden cage for the addition of mothers is solved so that in the lateral part there are holes with a diameter of 35 mm and covered with a wire cloth. At the bottom of the cage there are holes intended to insert a temporary denture closure from the medulla dough. Once you put the honey dough into the hole, the hole is closed with a plastic lid with a hole of 8 mm in diameter, through which the bees are tested to the queen. The release of bee queen takes about two days. The inlet for the queen is closed by a plug.

Queen exchange in the colonies begins by removing the old queen, followed by the addition of a new queen. The honeybee laborers where you want to embed a new mother will initially try to kill the new queen because they will treat her as a strange bee. The adoption of a new bee queen then depends on the proportions in the beehive. Younger queen bees receive more willingly than elder bees. Smaller groups of queen bees also receive better than larger groups. The colony accepts her mother better when she is just as old. The colony reluctantly accepts its queen during the robbery period, but willingly accepts it at the time of the snatch. Beekeepers are usually scheduled to exchange queen for a period of frogs, that is, spring or autumn. Workers will not accept a new mother if the old queen is present in the beehive, so it is necessary first to remove the old queen. If queen cells are in the colony, you need to look through them for removal because they could run out of a new queen. The addition cage is therefore a standard tool when adding a queen. You can seal the holes in the key with a honey dough.
